Teretonga season finale on Sunday

Competitors will gather at Teretonga Park on the outskirts of Invercargill on Sunday for the final motor race meeting of the season at the popular circuit.

Classes on track at the season finale include the Noel McIntyre Drainage Clubmans Saloons, the South Island Formula Ford class plus the Ford versus Holden battle in the Super 6 Saloon Series.

The Noel McIntyre Drainage Clubmans Series is raced at five of the six meetings throughout the season at Teretonga and the final round will see the overall title as well as class honours and the Flying Farewell titles decided as well as the local Sports/Racing Car Championship. The local Sports/Racing car competitors will join the South Island Formula Ford field for their races.

Andre Heimgartner of Dannemora in Auckland East has elected to forgo the final round of the National Formula Ford Championship at Taupo on the same weekend to instead contest the Teretonga round of the South Island Formula Ford Series which he currently leads. The 14-year-old, the current New Zealand Winter Formula Ford Series Champion, has had a superb debut season in the national series currently sitting fourth and is fresh from winning the opening round of the Victorian Formula Ford Championship on his first foray into Australia.
