Hartley's F1 position replaced

Hard on the heels of being dropped from the Red Bull Junior Team Brendon Hartley has been replaced as the reserve driver for their F1 program.

In a statement just released from Red Bull, Hartley has been replaced by his former Formula Renault 3.5 team mate Daniel Ricciardo.

"From the German Grand Prix onwards, Daniel Ricciardo will solely fulfill the position on test driver for Red Bull's two Formula One teams, Red Bull Racing and Scuderia Toro Rosso.

The move follows the Red Bull Junior Team's decision to release Brendon Hartley, after four seasons with the program. Christian Horner said: "We would like to thank Brendon for all his efforts and the work he has done with Red Bull Racing over the last few seasons. He has provided useful feedback for the team and we wish him all the best for the future."
