It is the turn of the classic machinery to grace the grids at Teretonga when the annual Classic SpeedFest takes place over the weekend of 20/21 February.
The SpeedFest, sponsored this year by Evolution Motorsport, features impressive fields in a variety of categories. Separate races for Classic Saloons, Sports Cars, Single Seater Racing Cars, Vintage Cars, Historic Touring Cars and Pre 65 Saloons will be complemented by the Mini 7 South cars and the local Noel McIntyre Drainage Clubmans Series.
International entries at this stage have come from regular Canadian visitor Jack Ondrack in his TVR Tuscan along with his countryman, another past visitor, Jay Esterer, who is bringing a 1984 Van Diemen. From Australia comes Barry Wise with his Dulon MP21 Formula Ford while Frank Yates of the UK will drive a Reynard FF2000 84F single seater.
Discounted tickets are already on sale from Auto Centre in Tweed Street, Invercargill at a cost of just $15. Tickets purchased at the gate during the weekend will cost $20 each. Children under 15 will be free.
The action starts at 10.00am each day.
