Richards brand new BOC Holden unveiled

TEAM BOC today unveiled the livery for its assault on the 2010 V8 Supercar Championship.

The No 8 VE Holden Commodore to be raced by Jason Richards is a brand new chassis and carries an updated version of the 2009 livery.

The new livery design was created by Holden design office with features incorporating more Blue while retaining the similar lines to its predecessor.

The new Team BOC VE Commodore is the first Commodore to be built in-house at BJR but will mirror it’s Walkinshaw Performance sister cars . The new chassis is the latest HRT specification which sees the driver sitting 35ml closer to the centre of the car and features the latest PI computer system. The Team BOC Commodore will also be powered by the new Noonan Race Engineering engine after the team signed a new engine supply agreement with the Queensland based operation.

BOC is joined by current major sponsors Securecorp, SteelBlue, Sony, Summit Fleet Leasing and Biante and new 2010 sponsors, Fuchs, Trading Post, No Fear and Lansvale Smash Repairs.

It’s been a very busy pre season for the Albury based team with the signing of Jason Bright, building a new car; the addition of a third car for the 2010 season and the signing of two new naming rights sponsors.

Driver Jason Richards can’t wait to get behind the wheel of the new Team BOC VE Commodore;

“It’s been a huge two months at Team BOC; the crew hasn’t had much of a break since we raced at Sydney in December. A new car build is always a labour intensive operation, but the crew has done wonders and I’m looking forward to the chance to drive the car and start fine tuning it before we head to the Middle East. I have Wally Storey back engineering the car again this year and the addition of Matt Boniface’s experience as my data engineer really strengthens the Team BOC crew.”

The new Team BOC Commodore debuts at the first official pre season test day at Winton Raceway in country Victoria on Monday 8th February before returning to the team’s Albury workshop to prapare for the trip to Abu Dhabi the following week.
