Cunningham pipped for pole at Iowa

09FILRnd3LBWadeCunningham-1_1.jpg
After an average 161.143 mph Wade Cunningham thought he had done enough to take pole for tonight’s round of the Firestone Indy Lights race.  However J. Hildebrand bumped him with an average 161.183 mph on the 0.875 mile Iowa Speedway oval.

Hildebrand has started from the pole twice already this season, but his third earned pole is his first on an oval in his Firestone Indy Lights career.

This is Cunningham’s third time on the front row in the past four races.  The Miller Lite 100 race is set to go at 8pm local time under lights.
