FIA announce 2010 F1 entires

 mclarenaust.jpg

The FIA has announced thirteen teams to compete in the 2010 F1 championship, including three new teams.  This also includes all the teams in the Formula One Teams Association (FOTA) although provisional.

A full field of twenty six cars is expected as each team will have two drivers entered in the championship.

It appears that the FIA is intending to divide the FOTA as Red Bull, Ferrari and Toro Rosso have unconditional places on the entry list. The other five FOTA members (McLaren, BMW Sauber, Renault, Toyota and Brawn GP) are subject to those teams lifting the conditions they have collectively placed on their entries.  This matter is expected to be resolved by Friday 19th June.

Meanwhile Ferrari have indicated that it would take action if the FIA insisted that they along with Red Bull and Toro Rosso stick to contracts that they signed with the FIA several years ago.  They have reaffirmed that if the FIA continue their insistents on budget restraints then they will not take part in the 2010 championships.

The three new teams are Campos Grand Prix, Monor Grand Prix and Team US F1.
